PROBLEM STATEMENT
According to Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), websites are prohibited from tracking data on children under age of 13. Due to this most social media platforms requires users to be at least 13 years of age to create an account. However most apps do not have a system in place to prevent children under 13 from creating an account using fake date of birth. With SnapKidz, children under 13 are able to enjoy communicating with friends through social media without their data being collected by third party sites. Our features allow monitoring by parents to ensure content appropriation and privacy.
Our target audience includes parents and children.
The marketing will focus on parents because they control their children's exposure to social media and makes the final decision regarding the accessibility to online content
The end users will be children between age 10 to 12.

PAIN POINT REASONING
To access social media, children would need to rely on parents to create an account for them and use their parent's identity to communicate. Our research showed that a good age verification process is lacking in most social media apps.
SnapChat is well known for its face filters, usage of face filters can be psychologically damaging for children. So for children to use an application like SnapChat there is a need to remove face filers. Also we felt there was potential to add location(maps) feature to this application to ensure safety of kids.

Parents need to create and register their own Snapchat account in order to create the kids version for their child

If we consider usage by parents, we just require parents to install the application, create and register their own SnapChat application to monitor the usage. This is essential because most parents worry about online safety of kids

Child's mobile number is linked to their SnapKidz account. This prevents them from creating a new regular Snapchat account on their phone.

Regarding face filter, more beautifying and game filter will be added to replace the face altering filters that are removed.

The map function is removed to prevent location data from being tracked and stored
